A Place For You Where It's All About God

Simple Project Homeless Ministry

In 2010, the Adult 10 Sunday School class of New Chapel Hill began helping The Simple Project (a homeless ministry) in providing meals on the third Saturday of every month.  In 2013, we were blessed with a covered cargo trailer donated by Cowboy Trailers of Calhoun. This trailer is used to carry tables and chairs to the Palace Park where we serve the homeless and the less fortunate. That same year, Bryan & Kim Wilhite, founders of the ministry, asked NCH to continue the ministry by assuming the responsibilities and work of The Simple Project.  A new board was formed, consisting of individuals who have a special place in their hearts for the homeless and less fortunate. The ministry grew quickly, and The Simple Project was blessed with a house for storing tables, chairs and items needed for the homeless of our community.

The meals are provided by different churches, groups, organizations or whoever wants to get together and provide a meal. Groups can register on our website and follow the Provide a Meal link to register for a date  to serve.   We meet at 619 Wood St., Monroe which is across the street from the Monroe Police Dedpartment.

But if someone who is supposed to be a Christian has money enough to live well and sees a brother in need and won't help him - how can God's love be within him?  Little children, let us stop just saying we love people; let us really love them and show it by our actions.  1 John 3:17-18
